Dishwasher_ are the latest disciples of another new wave of talent in the fertile Belgian groove and jazz scene.

‍It would, however, be a shame to limit them to the constraints of any given musical style. Ever since their formation in 2019, the Ghent-based trio have been experimenting with all possible genres to create a contemporary sound they can now rightfully call their own. With their self-titled debut album, released in April 2023 via Sdban Ultra, they showed off a unique and diverse yet coherent collection of groove-driven cuts.

‍The trio will release the long-awaited sophomore album 'Anemoia' in October 2025 on Amsterdam-based label DOX Records. On it, their distinctive electronic underlay is deepened and coloured even further: more synths and use of effects on sax, bass and drums predominate, while they never lose sight of their background in jazz and continue to experiment with influences from ambient and improv. Expect tunes somewhere between cinematic, retro-futuristic and neo-noir danceable.

‍Dishwasher_ came into being in 2019. After immediately diving fully into the live circuit, the band won some leading Belgian band competitions: Sound Track in 2021 and Jazz Talent Ghent (by Gent Jazz Festival) in 2022. The trio played some 60 shows at renowned venues across Europe and the UK since their inception, including Gent Jazz Festival, BIRD Rotterdam (NL), Fifty Lab, De Kreun, De Roma (AMOR), Zomerparkfeest Venlo (NL), Südtirol Jazz Festival (IT), Edinburgh Jazz Festival (UK), Transition Festival Utrecht (NL), New Colours Festival Gelsenkirchen (DE), Absolutely Free Festival, So What's Next (NL), Mondriaan Jazz Festival (NL), The Hug & Pint (UK), Off The Cuff London (UK), SWN Festival Cardiff (UK), …
